Weekly Chomp 07/12
To Long Don’t Read (TLDR): The Swimmers of the Week are Charlotte Hayes and Kamran / Kavan Berg. Feel free to wear a techsuit for the last dual meet of the season! (must follow NVSL guidelines) From Coach Jason: Thank you for teaching me how to be a better coach and allowing me the grace and space to grow, fail, and learn! CCH Sharks forever!!
Swimmers of the Week:
Charlotte Hayes
Charlotte is an extremely hard working, thoughtful, and dedicated swimmer. When given the option to play sharks and minnows or work on her breaststroke, Charlotte chose the harder option and swam extra laps. This is just one example that shows her dedication and hard work to the sport. Furthermore, during the A meet on Saturday, when racing a younger swimmer, Charlotte was a loud and enthusiastic supporter as the other girl finished to the wall. Keep pushing yourself, Charlotte!!!
Kamran and Kevan Berg
Kamran and Kevan Berg are two brothers in the 8U Sharks group who are open minded, courageous, and respectful. Often, we rely on them to try new strokes, fill spots, and earn points for the team. Whether it is Kamran or Kevan, they are always willing to help out their team and often show up quite clutch for the Sharks!! Keep always being fearless, Kamran and Kevan!!
Other Standout Swims:
Rhys Macl: At the intersquad meet this past Monday, Rhys Macl dropped a combined time of 12 full seconds! He was a crucial part to Team Jemma's win. Congratulations on your success and keep staying focused and motivated, Rhys!
Maddy Blanchard: Maddy has always been a fierce competitor, whether in practice, at meets, or at fun friday water polo. Her racing spirit really shone through against a race with Highland Park’s top breaststroker. Maddy just barely untouched her competitor and scored some big points for the Sharks. Never stop competing, Madisen!
Adele Ojala, Arthur Casarim, and Finley Luong: These swimmers were first time A swimmers for this season! They have worked hard all year and earned their spots at the meet. Thank you for your hard work and commitment swimmers!!
Note from Coach Jason:
To my beloved Sharks,
I have loved every moment of being your coach for the past two summers. As I prepare to move to New York and start medical school, my heart feels very heavy. Thank you for bearing with me though mistakes, losses, and thunderstorms. CCH has truly become a second home to me.
To my swimmers, I hope you remember these three things:
- Head down, hips up!
- You can do hard things!
- I love you all very much!!
My personal email is [email protected] and my phone number is (805) 402-6767 if you ever want or need to get in touch! CCH Sharks forever!!
Cheers,
Coach Jason, Ben, Aaron, Emma, and Ashley
