Time Trials Schedule and Details
Remember Time Trials are this Saturday morning. Here is the Timeline.
7:00 AM – setup volunteers report to the pool
7:40 AM – 8 and unders and 9/10s report to the pool
7:50-8:05 – Warm Ups for 8 and unders and 9/10
7:55 AM –11/12, 13/14, and 15+ report to the pool
8:05-8:15 – Warm Ups for 11/12, 13/14, and 15+
We will aim to get started by 8:30 AM.
Officials should report to time trials by 7:45 AM.
There is no need to sign up for strokes for this event. Cards will be printed for all swimmers and for all strokes.
For those who are new to the team, Time Trials is an opportunity for kids to get times in all 4 strokes. This is the only event where kids will be able to swim all 4 strokes on the same day, and is a great opportunity for kids to get baseline times. They will enjoy watching their times drop as the season progresses! This is also an opportunity for the coaches to start to think about our Saturday morning meet line-ups. For the swimmers, this is like a “dress rehearsal” of a real meet, but only with our swimmers. While the kids are in the team area, they will be given a small printed card with their name and age on it, along with the event number. Before their event, they will go to the clerk of course (the organizing area for the event) and give their card to the volunteers there. When the kids swim, the times will be written on those cards and the people at the data table will enter that info into the computer. Times will be available in Swimtopia a day or two after the event.
We encourage all swimmers to swim every stroke they are capable of swimming (even if it’s not their favorite). With that said, if your child has never swam breaststroke or butterfly before, they may not be ready to do that on Saturday, and that’s ok. There will be lots more practices for them to work on that, and plenty more opportunities for them to swim at meets.
As always come hungry as our concessions will have both breakfast and later lunch items for purchase. After the meet is over we ask all parents to pick up their trash and return any deck chairs they may have moved in order to get the pool ready for the rest of our members as soon as possible.
